My Story
I’m Mandy Steinfeldt, the artist behind Pixel Mouse Designs, a digital art studio inspired by the quiet beauty of the Midwest and the bold possibilities of imagination. Growing up under the wide-open skies of rural Iowa, I was surrounded by fields, changing seasons, and everyday landscapes that quietly stay with you. Creativity has always been part of my life—from drawing and painting to ceramics—but it wasn’t until 2017, during a simple hike at sunset, that everything shifted. A breathtaking sky convinced me to pick up a camera, and that moment became the spark for the work I create today.
As a self-taught digital artist, I learned by doing—spending countless hours experimenting, watching tutorials, and pushing myself to explore what else was possible beyond a single photograph. I begin with my own images of nature and then move into the digital realm, layering color, light, and texture to transform each scene into something more abstract, emotional, and dreamlike. My art is often described as calming, mesmerizing, and even transformative, and I love that it creates a space for people to pause and breathe—art that speaks to you.
At the core of my work is a fascination with movement and energy—how color flows, how light bends, and how emotion can be felt through abstract forms. I’m drawn to bold palettes, swirling patterns, and rich textures that invite you to look closer and get lost for a moment. Each piece is a blend of reality and imagination, grounded in the natural world but shaped by intuition and play.
Though I’m still relatively new to the national art scene, my creations have already begun to travel. My art has been featured in the Journeys Exhibition in New York, as well as in publications such as Artist Closeup Magazine and Louve Unbound Magazine, among others. Every step like this encourages me to keep growing, experimenting, and sharing.
Pixel Mouse Designs is my way of bringing that sense of wonder, color, and quiet transformation into everyday spaces—whether that’s a home, a workspace, or a place of rest and reflection.
